APC Group Examines Competence For NASS Leadership, CoS Position

Support organisations for the All Progressives Congress (APC) have urged the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, to put competence first when selecting his chief of staff because that position is crucial to his administration’s success.

The groups added that the North West should be taken into consideration for the Senate president position while also highlighting the need for the National Assembly leadership to emerge based on competence.

The position of Chief of Staff to the President is extremely important to the success of the incoming administration and must be exclusively reserved for the best possible hand, according to the support groups that held a national joint press conference in Abuja over the weekend.

“The chief of staff who will be responsible for the management of the daily activities of the president and also responsible for the coordination of all the presidential aides has to be someone who is equally cerebral and up to the task,” said Engr Salisu Magaji, a member of the APC-PCC, speaking on behalf of the groups.

Babajide Akin-Thomas, who spoke on behalf of the group, stated that the Senate, which is a part of the 10th National Assembly, will be crucial to the success of the incoming administration. Whoever is chosen to lead this branch of government must have the necessary level of experience, loyalty, and commitment to serving the people.

“Statistically, based on the election results, it must also be noted that the North-West region merits an important position in the upcoming administration. Out of the six geopolitical zones, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu received the most votes in the North-West.
The group supported Senator Barau Jibrin to succeed Senator Ahmed Lawan as the President of the 10th Senate even though it thought Hon. James Abiodun Faleke would make a good Chief of Staff.
