Oyo State’s incumbent governor, Seyi Makinde, has been re-elected to his position following victory in the state’s election for governor.
On Saturday, the election was carried out in each of the state’s 33 different local government areas.
It has been determined that Makinde, who ran for office under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is the victor of the election.
Makinde, who is seeking another term in office, was declared the winner of the election by the returning officer in the state, Professor Adebayo Bamire, who announced the result of the election. According to Professor Adebayo Bamire, Makinde defeated all of the other candidates to win the election.
Makinde won the election with a total of 563,756 votes, which was announced by Bamire, the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University. He was able to defeat all of the other candidates.
During his speech, Bamire made the announcement that the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Teslim Folarin, received 256,685 votes.
Adebayo Adelabu, the candidate for Accord, received a total of 38,357 votes in the election.
