The victims of the recent fire that destroyed several shops in the bustling Muda Lawal Market in Bauchi have been given some relief in the form of a donation of ten million Nigerian naira (N10 million) from the state governor, Bala Mohammed, who also made the commitment to rebuild the destroyed stores.
The donation was made by the governor when he was at the market to evaluate the extent of the damage caused by the fire that broke out at midnight. He also gave instructions to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to conduct an inventory of the loss.
While saying that the money, which is going to be shared among the affected victims in order to provide immediate relief for them, Governor Mohammed also promised to install a transformer in order to boost the power supply in the market in order to improve commercial activities there. This was done with the intention of making the market a more favorable location for business.

Bala Mai Kaji, Chairman of the Muda Lawal Market Association, delivered a thank-you speech to the Governor on behalf of the victims. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for making the visit.
