The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned commercial banks against approving Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue’s loan request because his term is set to expire on May 29.
This was stated in a statement made on Saturday in Makurdi by Mr. Tersoo Kula, Director of Communications for the Alia/Ode Campaign Organization.
According to Kula, the State House of Assembly approved another N1 billion revolving overdraft for Ortom on Tuesday, despite the fact that doing so would increase the state’s overall debt load.
We have learned from reliable sources that the Ortom-led executive received a N1 billion revolving overdraft on Tuesday from the Benue House of Assembly, which is secretly led by Uba.
“Given that Ortom has less than three months left in office, we’re shocked that the house is still approving loans for him.
He questioned why, in the final months of his presidency, Ortom was still looking for ways to increase the state’s debt and urged the populace to oppose the plan.
