The National Judicial Council has reinstated Justice Babajide Aladejana of the Ekiti State High Court after a 16-year suspension.
Under the leadership of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Belgore, Aladejana was placed on administrative leave in 2006 along with the former Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kayode Bamisile.
The two were placed on administrative leave for their alleged involvement in the political crisis that resulted in the removal of the state’s former governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Aladejana did, however, formally return to work on Tuesday, according to the Daily Post.
The NJC review was followed by the lifting of his suspension.
He was then assigned to the Second High Court, where he would be hearing cases and carrying out other judicial duties.
