In Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, an explosion believed to have been caused by dynamite rocked a building housing two media outlets on Tuesday night.
According to information obtained that, Chinyere Igwe, a member of the House of Representatives and ardent supporter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, owns the two media companies.
Igwe confirmed the attack on the facility in a statement to reporters on Wednesday. He also mentioned that the explosion severely damaged the facility’s generator house.
The federal lawmaker continued by saying that he had reported the explosion to the police, and that a police unit had gone to the scene of the incident.

He said: “We have informed the Police, some detachment of the police came and the DPO called to inform me today some bomb experts are coming for further investigations.”
Magnus Abe Escapes Assassination As Hoodlums Attack SDP Campaign Train In Rivers State
Recall that the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe, escaped assassination attempt after unknown gunmen attacked his campaign train at Akinima community in Ahoada-West local government area of the State.
Members of the campaign train could be seen running frantically for cover as the gunmen struck in a brief video.
Prior to traveling to Akinima, Senator Abe and his team were reportedly attacked with numerous gunshot wounds while visiting Ubeta and other nearby communities.
When asked about the assassination attempt, Abe had confirmed it, saying: “We went there and they went and used two vehicles to block the road so that we cannot get there.
