Afenifere’s top leaders Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Senator Femi Okunronmu joined the Labour Party, LP, at a rally for its presidential candidate on Saturday in Ogun State.
The Yoruba leaders attended the LP presidential candidate Peter Obi’s campaign event with Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, and other party officials.
Adebanjo called Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress, APC’s presidential candidate, a failure while speaking at the rally.
The Afenifere leader advised Tinubu to drop out of the race and support Peter Obi because he would be let down by the northerners on whom he depends.

We are in Obi’s corner. Peter Obi has the support of progressive movement pioneers.
“Those con artists posing as Yoruba don’t care about the nation. The Yoruba do not steal from other tribes’ property. There has already been a Yoruba president.
“A Fulani man is about to leave, Atiku (Abubakar) is treating you like a fool.
Adebanjo requested that someone inform Tinubu that Hausas will not support him and to support Obi and Datti instead because they will defeat him and prevent him from returning home once they do.
