The CoS of Gbajabiamila resigns and declares interest in the Senate by-election.

Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, Chief of Staff to Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has resigned his position and declared interest in contesting the Senate bye-election for the Zamfara Central Senatorial zone.

Rikiji, who was also the immediate past Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, is running for the senate seat that became vacant after Senator Hassan Nasiha, the state’s deputy governor, resigned.

He went to the state APC headquarters in Gusau, along the Sokoto By-pass Road, to express his interest in the position.

He told the state APC executives, led by Tukur Danfulani, that he wanted to run for the Senate seat so that he could contribute more to the state’s political and socio-economic development.

The former speaker also stated that he wished to add quality to the previous senators’ excellent representation in the national assembly.

He stated that he was running to help and support Governor Bello Matawalle in his fight against security.

The aspirant expressed his gratitude to the party’s leaders for their warm welcome and pledged his continued commitment to the party and its leadership.

Danfulani praised the aspirant for following the proper procedure in declaring his intention.
