The Lagos State Police Command arrested and charged the main suspect in connection with the distribution of kegs of petrol as souvenirs at a party held at Havilah Events Centre in Victoria Island on March 4, 2022,

This was revealed in a statement signed by CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command, on Tuesday.

According to Ajisebutu, the suspect, Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl, was charged with four counts of conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, endangering human life by distributing combustible matter in a public gathering, intent to harm another, and unlawfully carrying on the business of storing and containerizing petroleum products without a permit.

“Ogbulu was arraigned yesterday 14th March 2022 at the Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court in the Ikeja Magisterial District, Holden at Oshodi,” he said.

“Recall that, following the recent viral video of petrol distribution as a souvenir, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, fdc, mnim, psc, ordered the arrest of the suspect who was at the time on the loose.

“The Commissioner of Police reiterates the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, and warns citizens against acts that endanger human lives,” says the statement.
