On Thursday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) filed an eighth-count criminal charge against suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari and six others, alleging that they were involved in illegal drug trafficking.
According to reports, the NDLEA charged DCP Kyari and the four other police officers with conspiracy, obstruction, and dealing in Cocaine worth 17.55 kilograms through a team of lawyers led by its Director, Prosecution and Legal Services, Joseph Sunday.
Kyari and his associates, who are currently in custody, are also accused of illegally tampering with 21.25kg of cocaine.

The NDLEA’s charge against Kyari comes on the same day that Nigeria’s Federal Government approved his extradition to the United States (USA).
The United States had requested that the disgraced top cop be extradited in connection with a $1.1 million wire fraud involving Abass Ramon, also known as Hushpuppi, and four others.
