SP Muhammad Shehu, the command’s Public Relations Officer, stated this in a statement made in Gusau on Saturday.
Shehu explained that the result was part of ongoing search and rescue efforts targeted at rescuing individuals held captive in various bandit enclaves across Zamfara.

According to him, the operation was carried out on Friday by the command’s tactical operatives in coordination with the military posted along the Dansadau axis in Zamfara’s Maru Local Government Area.
“During debriefing, the victims told the police that on February 21, bandits invaded the village in large numbers and abducted seven of them to an unknown place in the state’s Dansadau forest,” he said.
Shehu claimed that during a planned jungle clearance near the Dansadau axis, joint police and military operatives successfully retrieved the victims.
The patients were sent to Gusau’s Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, where they are undergoing medical treatment, he said.
“All of the victims will be handed over to the Niger State Police Command for further action.”
“Ayuba Elkana, the Commissioner of Police in Zamfara, thanked the victims and their families on their freedom.
