Gunmen Attack Okomu Oil Palm, kill worker

Unknown gunmen have killed one of the workers of the Okomu Oil Palm Company in Edo State, according to Reports.
According to the Reports, the recent attack on the company came after a similar attack on February 1, 2022, in which assailants burned 90 hectares of the company’s rubber plantation and three excavators.

Trouble started again, after the security operatives arrested two suspects, which angered their supposed members, leading to a further attack on innocent workers on the Okomu Oil Palm Company’s property to avenge the arrest of their accomplices.

A source who craved anonymity disclosed that the suspects nabbed confessed to been behind the theft of rubber captured by the Marine Police on a boat after it had left the Okomu Ijaw Community on its way to Delta State.

The Company’s spokeman, Fidelis Olise, out rightly condemned the constant killing of innocent workers performing their lawful duties without conflict or instigation.

He pleaded with the government and other authorities concerned to take immediate action against the bandits responsible for the murderous crimes.
