Yakubu Musa was arraigned before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court on Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged criminal misappropriation of funds.

In 2014, he is accused of receiving N3 million from one Thalmon Friday for a plot of land in Kaduna State’s Mahuta area.
Musa is accused of diverting funds because the complainant, his in-law, did not receive the property or a refund.
The crime is punishable under Section 308 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law of 1991.

After the charge was read to the defendant in court, he pleaded “not guilty.”
Maryam Lawal, the prosecutor, has asked for a trial date. Haruna Magaji, the defense attorney, requested that his client be granted bail.
