President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his condolences to the government and people of Abia State, as well as the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on the death of Mr Bonnie Nwoha, the NUJ’s former national president.
In a statement released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, the president expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and associates.
He prayed to God to give the departed’s soul eternal rest.

He praised the late Nwoha’s remarkable accomplishments, such as his desire to mentor young and aspiring journalists and his tireless efforts to promote a free press and the rights of members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm.
He described the late veteran journalist as a respected member of the Nigeria Guild of Editors who served as Managing Editor of the Daily Times Nigeria, Commissioner of Information in Abia State, and Special Adviser Media to the Governor of Abia State until his death.
