More than 20 people have been killed in Kaduna State as a result of new bandit attacks.
The bandits are said to have attacked a number of villages in the state’s Giwa Local Government Area.

According to sources, the marauders attacked the villages on Saturday and Sunday mornings, shooting indiscriminately.
Several villagers were injured as a result of the attacks.
The villages include Kauran Fawa, Marke, and Riheya, according to Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.
During the attacks, the bandits also set fire to several houses, trucks, and cars, as well as agricultural produce at various farms, according to Aruwan.

Security operatives, on the other hand, have been deployed to maintain patrols in the general area, he said.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai has expressed regret for the attack and directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to conduct an immediate assessment of the area in order to provide relief to the victims.
