Qatar Airways will begin service to Tashkent next year

Qatar Airways has announced that it will begin twice-weekly flights to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as part of its worldwide network. The maiden trip from Doha to Tashkent will take off on January 17, 2022, aboard an Airbus A320 aircraft with 12 Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats.

Passengers flying to and from Tashkent will be able to connect to over 140 destinations via Hamad International Airport in Doha, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, and the United States.

“We see significant growth potential in Central Asia,” stated His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive. “This new route to Tashkent will serve to expand trade opportunities and attract tourists seeking to discover this wonderful area.” Traveling with the World’s Best Airline via the World’s Best Airport, Hamad International Airport, passengers from Tashkent will now have access to more than 140 destinations.”

In 2022, Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital and the heart of the ancient Silk Road, will become Qatar Airways’ newest destination and the latest addition to its Asian network. It is Central Asia’s largest metropolis, with panoramic views, diverse cuisine, and a plethora of things to see and do.

Qatar Airways, a multiple award-winning airline, was named ‘Airline of the Year’ at the 2021 World Airline Awards, organized by Skytrax, an international air transport rating organization. It was also voted ‘Best Airline in the Middle East,’ ‘World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge,’ ‘World’s Best Business Class Airline Seat,’ ‘World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering,’ and ‘World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering.’ The airline has now won the primary prize for an unprecedented sixth time, cementing its position at the top of the industry (2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and now 2021). Hamad International Airport, the airline’s hub, was just named the ‘Best Airport in the World 2021’ by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2021.

In addition, Qatar Airways has earned the renowned 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating from Skytrax, making it the first worldwide airline to do so.
