Mr Ibu, a veteran Nollywood actor, has responded to claims that he endorsed Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the president in 2023.
Mr Ibu stated he was at the gathering where Tinubu was sponsored in a video posted to his Instagram page.
He clarified that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, not Tinubu, will be his presidential candidate if he decides to run in 2023.

According to the actor, Atiku has previously aided him greatly, and he had no intention of abandoning him in favor of another candidate.
“People approached me about Tinubu’s role in the presidential election in Nigeria,” he added. “I’m a completely independent person, and everything that has to do with anything publicly should be addressed to me.” I’m not sure why this item is spinning like this.
“I’ve never run in the opposite direction; it’s always been me and Atiku who have aided me in so many ways, and if he runs for president, Atiku will undoubtedly be my candidate.”
“I wouldn’t abandon Atiku since he’s like a father to me; I’ve worked for him even in his own State.” I’m not trying to discredit Tinubu, but he’s not my candidate; Atiku is.

“Everyone I visited was just a visitation.” They wanted me to help them in some manner as an actor, but it doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about my candidate and fathers. In 2023, everyone is running for office, and may God help them.”
