The Nasarawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) for the supply of gas to Nasarawa State’s industries.

The gas supply MoU was signed in Lafia, the state capital, at the Nasarawa Business Roundtable meeting, which was held to explore investment opportunities in the gas sector.

Malele Kyari, the NNPC Group Managing Director, spoke at the event and provided concrete evidence of the project’s progress, emphasizing that Nasarawa State is uniquely positioned to maximize value from the AKK pipeline and gas-based business opportunities.

Mr. President’s unwavering commitment to using gas as a major tool to drive economic development was also highlighted and appreciated by Kyari.

Also speaking, Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye, the Managing Director of GACN, stated that the collaboration between the Nasarawa State Government, NNPC Ltd., and GACN has established a clear framework through which investors and projects in the state will have immediate access to gas.

He stated that this would be done through Virtual Pipeline Solutions (CNG & LNG) prior to the AKK pipeline project’s completion.

“This is a significant step forward in the federal government’s Gas Utilization Expansion initiative, which is being vigorously facilitated by NNPC and GACN.”
