Defectors from various political parties, including the All Progressives Congress, APC, who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have apologized to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State for incorrectly joining forces with state enemies to castigate and mock him.

Former Caretaker Chairman of Gwer West Local Government Council, Hon. Hyacinth Kwegi; a House of Assembly Candidate for the APC in the 2019 general elections, Hon Ukeyima Mkem; and former DGSA, Mr Titus Utuur; all tendered apologies at the mega decamping rally held at Naka, headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Council on Sunday, November 21st, 2021.

In separate remarks made at the defection of thousands of people to the PDP, the leaders expressed regret for taunting the Governor about herdsmen killings in Benue just to support their former political parties.

They claimed that, despite the propaganda, most of them were unable to vote in their villages in the 2019 elections due to an invasion by Fulani militia under the watchful eye of the APC-led administration, and that some of them had benefited greatly from the Governor before abandoning him for no apparent reason.

Even as they pledged unwavering support to the PDP, they expressed gratitude to Governor Ortom and his wife, Dr Eunice Ortom, as well as the entire PDP for welcoming them back into the fold.

While receiving the decampees, Governor Samuel Ortom and his wife, Dr. Eunice Ortom, assured them of equal opportunities, pointing out that members of the PDP have equal opportunities.

The Governor stated that Nigerians will not tolerate the APC’s failed leadership and will take over to provide the country with direction.

Governor Ortom owes the PDP family prayers and unwavering support, according to PDP State Chairman Sir John Ngbede, who hinted that the party will soon welcome thousands of supporters in the Benue South Senatorial District.
