The gas explosion happened at 21 Ojekunle Street in Ladipo, Mushin, Lagos.
Several other people were said to have been injured as a result of the incident.
In a statement, Margaret Adeseye, director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, said the incident happened at 8:42 a.m. on Tuesday.

“The Gas incident, which was reported at 08:42 a.m. Tuesday morning via the State emergency reporting platform, was quickly responded to by a combination of State first and secondary responders,” according to the statement.
“On arrival at the scene, it was discovered that it is an open space used for several activities including a beer parlour, mechanic workshop, spare parts sale and gas shop amongst others while housing a makeshift structure.

“Three male adults had been recovered as rescue and recovery operations continue in an environment isolated from causing any further secondary incident.”
She added that preliminary investigations to establish the fact of the incident have begun and further findings will be made public.
