Bolaji Olarongbe, 60, was arrested by the Kwara Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on suspicion of assisting and abetting theft and housebreaking in the state.
The corps stated this in a statement issued by its spokesman, Mr Babawale Afolabi, and made available to journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday.
Afolabi also revealed that NSCDC agents had apprehended Olarongbe’s accomplice, Moshood Shittu, 45.

He claimed that while Shittu specialized in house burglary, Olanrongbe was usually the one who received the stolen goods.
Laptops, Android phones, phone accessories, DVD players, and other valuables were recovered from the suspects’ hideout.
“On November 7, around 1 p.m., the command received a complaint about a case of housebreaking from one Yemisi Adefila of Oko Oba Area, Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin.”
“The complainant accused Moshood Shittu of breaking into her parents’ house and stealing a GOtv decoder, a cylinder DVD player, and other valuables,” Afolabi stated.
He claimed that during interrogation, Shittu confessed to the crime and led NSCDC detectives to the home of his accomplice (Olarongbe), which was located at G220, Yekelu Compound, Bolanta, Ilorin.
