Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has praised Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the best candidate to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Following the appearance of posters online and in major Nigerian cities suggesting that Osinbajo would run for president in 2023, the vice president’s office issued a statement saying he has not declared for the presidency.
Sule described Professor Yemi Osinbajo of the Progressive Consolidation Group for Vice President as a sellable candidate while hosting him at Government House Lafia on Monday.
“In the upcoming 2023 presidential election across the country, Osinbajo is the most qualified candidate and only sellable product that can succeed President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.

While endorsing the vice president’s bid for the presidency in 2023, the governor stated that Nasarawa State is committed to “continuation.”
He described the vice president as a man of integrity who everyone respected, saying that if given the chance to lead the country, Osinbajo, a professional lawyer, would take the country to the pinnacle of development.
Dr. Aliyu Rabiu, the group’s leader, previously stated that the purpose of their visit to Nasarawa State was to canvass for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to run for President in 2023.
He claimed that President Buhari’s policies are working, and that the country’s unemployment is being addressed through the social upliftment policy.
The group’s membership spans the country’s six geopolitical zones, according to our correspondent.
