The abductors of their monarch have yet to make contact with the people of Wawa kingdom, in the Borgu local government area of Niger State.
Dr Mahmud Ahmed Aliyu, the Dodo of Wawa, was kidnapped last Saturday night by ten gunmen suspected of being bandits.
The abductors have not contacted his family or the Borgu Emirate four days after his abduction, raising concerns about his abduction and safety.
While some attribute his kidnapping to his long-standing opposition to the activities of some foreign Fulani men who arrived in the area from Benin and Niger Republic to settle, others accuse one of his security guards of being a bandit informant.

Some feared that the abductors had harmed the monarch, who had resisted his kidnapping but decided to follow his kidnappers after they threatened to kill members of his family.
“Everyone is now a suspect,” a source close to Dodo of Wawa palace told yesterday. “Even some of his family members were being questioned.”
“The bandits were led by a woman, and when they arrived, the son was standing outside the building; he was the one who informed them that the father was inside the palace, so even the son is being interrogated,” the source added.
Wasiu Abiodun, a spokesman for the state police command, said the tactical squad and local vigilantes have been activated and are on the lookout for the kidnappers.
