In Osun, the NSCDC will crack down on illegal private guards

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDCOsun )’s State Command has reiterated its commitment to eliminating quackery in private security firms.

The corps went on to say that the country’s current security challenges required everyone to be vigilant and not leave actionable intelligence in the hands of security personnel alone.

After a meeting with stakeholders of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) organized by the Private Guards Control Department of Osun NSCDC in Osogbo, the command issued a press statement signed by DSC Adigun Daniel, the command’s Spokesperson.

The Osun NSCDC Commandant, Emmanuel Ocheja, who was represented at the meeting by the Command’s Deputy Commandant, Stands Ibrahim, urged the private guards operators to work with the NSCDC by providing accurate intelligence.

Deputy Commandant Awofade Olufemi, the head of the command’s department of Private Guards Control, said the private guards personnel would be trained on capacity building in information management and the necessary operational strategy needed to address new security challenges in the country.

The command has decided to crack down on all illegal security operators in the state, according to Awofade, who also stated that companies that have not renewed their licenses would be dealt with.
