Onyema inspires confidence in Super Eagles by promising N20 million if they beat Cape Verde

Mr. Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, has promised to reward the Super Eagles with N20 million if they beat Cape Verde to stay on top of Group C in the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying series.

In their second Group match, the three-time African champions will face the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde today in Mindelo.

He gave the charge on board Air Peace’s brand new Embraer 195-E2 aircraft, which was transporting the players to Cape Verde for the match, yesterday morning.

“I want that nationalistic zeal to burn in all of you and in everything you do,” Onyema said, emphasizing that qualifying for the World Cup would provide another opportunity for Nigeria to unite. Go forth and shine for your country.”

Air Peace signed a partnership agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation as the official airline sponsor of the national teams less than a week ago, and his pledge and charge to the team comes less than a week later. The N1.2 billion partnership will last four years.

Onyema stated that Air Peace is delighted to be associated with the team, and that the blessing that God bestowed on Air Peace is now following the team, as evidenced by their victory over Liberia last Friday.

“You dominated your first match, and we expect the next one, which takes place in Cape Verde in 24 hours, to be no different,” he said.

Onyema emphasized that Air Peace backed the national teams in their efforts to restore hope in Nigeria, especially at a time when the country is in crisis.

“Gentlemen, the reason I came to the airport at this hour (2 a.m.) to speak to you is because you are not just going to play a football match; you are going to carry on your young shoulders the hopes and aspirations of a nation in peril,” he said.
