Biafra: Go after bandits, not IPOB, ESN: Anglican Bishop tells Buhari’s government to target criminals instead of IPOB and ESN

A Diocese Bishop in Anambra State, the Rt. Rev. Ndubisi Obi has recommended that the federal government allocate more effort in capturing bandit gangs rather than combatting the Biafra-based Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Eastern Security Network, ESN.

Bishop Obi expressed disappointment that the Federal Government was using its arsenals against protesters, while not caring about bandits who were completely unaccountable.

Speaking at a press conference in front of the Bishop’s Court on issues that affect the nation, he spoke.

Additionally, in an effort to broaden Anglophone Anambra’s ecumenical Catholic Communion Synod, St. James’ Episcopal Church in the town of Ichi, Ekwusigo District, will host the session starting on September 2.

Instead of solving problems, the government officials created many more of them.

Obi suggested that the government do everything it could to stem the agitation in order to stop it.

When it comes to agitation, the lack of sensitivity on the part of the current government is what contributes to it. They do the wrong ones instead of doing the right ones.

The Church, therefore, has no choice but to make recommendations about what government should do to end the agitation.

Let’s just take a look at how the government is handling cybersecurity threats in this country. I keep wondering why the military should be sent in to pursue the IPOB and its affiliate, the ESN, in Imo State when bandits in the north of Nigeria abducts students and children of school and college age with impunity. Sometimes they have more than 100 people, and they are all gathered into the forest where they are held for ransom. He explained that bandits commit these crimes, but instead of being pursued, all efforts are devoted to tracking down protesters.

Buhari, meanwhile, insisted that IPOB are thieves and terrorists responsible for acts of terrorism in the southeast.

According to Buhari, those who sympathize with the Biafra secessionist movement are not standing up for the Christian minority as claimed.
