The draw for this season’s Champions League group stages will take place on Thursday, August 26.
It has been confirmed that Chelsea, Villarreal, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Sporting and Lille are in Pot 1 of the draw while heavy weights such as
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, PSG, Liverpool, Sevilla, and Borussia Dortmund find themselves in Pot 2 for this season’s group stage draw.
Chelsea is the current champion after defeating Manchester City to win the title last season.
Villarreal, on the other hand, defeated Manchester United in the Europa League final and lost to Chelsea in the European Super Cup.
The draw will take place on Thursday at 1600 GMT in Istanbul, Turkey, which is 17:00 BST for those watching from the United Kingdom and 12:00 EDT for those on the east coast of the United States.
The actual picking of the balls will take place later, after the UEFA ceremony is over, as is customary with such events.
The draw for this season is earlier than usual, as it is usually held on Friday or Monday.
The draw will be broadcast live on UEFA.com.

Matches in the Champions League are usually held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and these are the dates for this season’s six matchdays.
Matchday 1 is scheduled for September 14/15.
Matchday 2 is scheduled for September 28/29.
Matchday 3 will take place on October 19th and 20th.
Matchday 4 will take place on November 2nd and 3rd.
Matchday 5 will take place on November 23/24.
Matchday 6 will take place on December 7th and 8th.
