Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the former governor of Ondo State, has stated that healthcare is a fundamental human right and an important investment.
Dr. Mimiko said this in Abuja after receiving the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN”individual )’s achiever” award.
Every leading voice in the country must advocate for healthcare for all, according to the former governor, whose eight-year tenure as governor saw unprecedented achievements in the health sector.
“No one should have to lose their life due to a lack of funds to access care,” he says.
“You don’t realize how poor you are until you need money to save your life and can’t come up with it.
