Eight farmers were killed by bandits in the villages of Buruku and Udaw in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area.
While working on their farmland, the victims were assaulted.
The two villages along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway have been targeted on a regular basis.
Muhammed Umar, a local resident and community leader, confirmed the attacks to Daily Trust on Saturday.

“In Buruku, five farmers were killed, while in Udawa, three farmers were killed. We’ve had enough of burying our men on a daily basis. “We require assistance,” he stated.
ASP Jalige Mohammed, the Public Relations Officer for the State Police Command, confirmed the attacks when contacted, but said the command had yet to confirm the exact number of people killed.
