JUST IN: The abducted Niger APC chairman has been released

Alhaji Aminu Musa Bobi, the abducted All Progressives Congress (APC) Zone ‘C’ Chairman in Niger State, has been released.

Bobi was kidnapped by gunmen last week on his way to a farm along Ukuru road in the Bobi district area of Mariga local government area.

The Niger Police Command confirmed his release in a statement.

According to the report, the APC chairman was taken to Kontagora General Hospital for medical attention.

According to DSP Wasiu Abiodun of the Niger Police, the Police mobilized a joint manhunt for the abductors, which resulted in his release due to pressure on his abductors.

“The Command mobilized a joint Police, army, and vigilante team to the area for the manhunt of the gunmen,” he said.

* The abducted chairman was released by the abductors on 13/08/2021 around 1530hrs and resurfaced around Igwama forest, Bobi district area of the state’s Mariga local government area.

“The victim was subsequently rescued from the forest, debriefed, and transported to Kontagora General Hospital for medical attention while efforts were made to track down his abductors.”
