The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a warning about a bogus Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) online portal, stating that it has not authorized any agency or organization to collect voter information on its behalf.
Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Commission’s Information and Voter Education Committee, clarified the situation in a statement issued on Friday titled “Fake CVR online portal.”
According to the statement, “the commission’s attention has been drawn to a post that is currently being circulated on social media about a website for INEC voter registration that is different from the INEC CVR portal.”

“The fake portal’s address is https://register.inec-pvc.online/, with a shortened URL of https://bit.ly/INEC-PvcReg2021.
“INEC wishes to expressly distance itself from this website and any activity conducted on it. According to the commission, it has not authorized any agency or organization to collect information about prospective voters on its behalf.
“The general public is hereby informed that the INEC CVR online portal will continue to be accessible at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org.”
