The Kano State Government has lowered land usage taxes by 30% to make payments easier for property owners throughout the state.
Dr Zainab Ibrahim-Braji, the Permanent Secretary of the Kano State Bureau for Land Management, said this in a statement released on Friday in Kano by Murtala Shehu-Umar, the Bureau’s information officer. Ibrahim-Braji said this when she met with executives of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Kano branch.
She said that Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje authorized the reduction in order to encourage property owners to pay their payments on time.
The NBA’s continual support and suggestions on how to take the bureau forward is much appreciated by the Permanent Secretary.
Earlier, NBA Kano Branch Chairman Aminu Sani-Gadanya stated that they are visiting the Bureau to speak with management over land administration concerns.
He applauded the permanent secretary’s decision to disregard letters from attorneys who do not have the NBA seal.
