Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the head of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), and his wife have been released by a Kaduna State High Court.
In a judgement issued on Wednesday, the presiding court, Justice Gideon Kurada, supported El-Zakzaky and his wife’s no-case submission and ordered their release.
The two have been detained since December 2015, after conflicts between IMN members and soldiers in Zaria, Kaduna state.
The Kaduna state government was prosecuting them for alleged culpable homicide, among other things.
