Lawal Gumau’s wife, Hajia Amina Jauro, has been accused of housing property fraud in Abuja, according to several documents.
Mrs. Amina, who married and became the Congress member of her husband’s party in 2019, was alleged to have defrauded many applicants who sought to live in her leased home.
Documents show that Amina, masquerading as the owner of the house, issued a tenancy agreement to new tenants.

As of this report, it was unclear how much the other victims paid.
A concerned resident had warned the owner, Madam Ndokwa Ofili, who stays in Garki, Abuja, that the Senator’s wife was suspected of fraud.
