APC aspirant claims to prioritise security

Chief Press Secretary (CPS) into the INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, that made the revelation yesterday, stated the note was glued at the commission’s offices at Anambra, in accordance with Section 30 of the Electoral Act 2010.

INEC had, in January, printed the schedule and program of actions for its election.

On the other hand, the commission appealed to political parties to run credible and rancour-free primaries in accordance with the regulations, rules and regulations of this commission.

Oyekanmi stated the body had executed the very first action on the schedule by releasing the official notice for the election at its own offices in Anambra.

MEANWHILE, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship optimistic for its election, Azuka Okwuosa, has stated the safety of Anambra is his priority.

While commiserating with Anambrarians who lost family members to criminal actions in the nation lately, he stated he’d see to it that the security of property and life if he wins the governorship race.

He explained: “Insecurity has become a significant concern in Anambra and Nigeria as a whole. Over the previous two decades, offence within the country has nearly reached all-time large. It’s simple to state that the problem of insecurity is constant throughout the country, provided that reports of strikes have arisen in virtually every nation. But a significant number of killings, armed robberies, kidnaps, cult clashes and aggressive attacks have happened in Anambra without a proper answer from security operatives.

“The insecurity situation in the country will take its toll on the total maturation of the country, if not correctly assessed”

According to him, the majority of the obligation to tackle this difficulty rests on the authorities.

He considers that the first step to handling unhappiness is dialoguing with the agitated.

“Dialogue is the first step to solving all kinds of conflicts. My long-term aim is to increase the opportunities available to youths to make a fair living. This method is borne from my view that offence is a consequent effect of idle youth who’ve been frustrated with the problems and lack of gainful employment. With no alternate to make ends meet, a number of them have resorted to criminal actions.”
