Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, has said that his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, is not interested in running for a third term in 2023.
Shehu revealed that the burning of stations and offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) won’t stop the 2023 general elections. The Presidential spokesperson stated this on Tuesday during a meeting on Arise TV.

He said, “it’s very upsetting that INEC and police offices have been set ablaze in parts of the nation by anarchists. I believe the law enforcement agents are adequate enough to deal with them.
“Does anybody want to prevent election in 2023? President Buhari is not interested in the third term; he is not suited for that. So, there’ll be more election in 2023 and we will get there, God willing.”
Unknown gunmen have been attacking police stations and burning down offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. It has resulted in widespread rumours that certain political interests are enthusiastic about making certain the 2023 general elections do not grip.
