Police accompanied by Hunters gun down 2 armed robbery suspects in Adamawa

Adamawa police command accompanied by Vigilantes and hunters in a shootout killed two armed robbery suspects who operated along Numan- Jalingo Highway road, robbed innocent travellers of their belongings.

The operation happened on 1/02/2021 at about 1203hrs at the order of the Commissioner of police CP A A Alhaji after a good Samaritan reported the incident.

CP Alhaji in a press release signed by the command’s spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Ngurojo said the operation led by DPO in charge of Numan division have made a successful encounter as the suspect is giving useful information to the command.

Yahaya in the statement said recovery of den guns, sharp knives, cut lasses and charms were and one Ashidu Balari, a resident of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government area of Adamawa state is arrested after sustaining injuries as a result of the shootout while others escaped.

“The suspect who is now receiving treatment is being investigated in connection to Criminal Conspiracy and Armed Robbery.

“Meanwhile, the Command has commended the Police operatives of Numan Division for their immediate response which resulted in the successes recorded.

“The CP while appreciating the Vigilantes/Hunters in Numan for their cooperation and support so far, calls for improved partnership and collaboration between the citizens and the Police particularly in the areas of providing credible and actionable information to the Police which is required in tackling crimes and apprehending unrepentant criminals in the state.

“The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations is concluded.”
