Oyo Police arrest 5 suspects over assault on Ibadan residents

Oyo State Police Command on Monday stated it has arrested no fewer than 5 suspects in reference to the assaults on some residents of Ibadan, the state capital on Sunday.

DAILY POST gathered that some residents of Aremo and different communities have been on Sunday attacked by some hoodlums.

In the course of the violence that ensued, some outlets belonging to harmless residents, automobiles and different invaluable property had been destroyed by the hoodlums.

The State Police Command in its response on Monday confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi in a press release made accessible to DAILY POST knowledgeable that the suspects can be transferred to SCID for discreet instigation.

Fadeyi maintained that the suspects had been arrested by collaborative efforts of joint patrol groups from Agugu, Mapo and Idi- Aro.

He stated, “In response to the incident at Aremo, 5 suspects had been arrested by collaborative efforts of Joint patrol groups from Agugu, Mapo and Idi- Aro.

“The suspects shall be transferred to SCID Iyaganku, Ibadan for discreet investigation, pls.”
