The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Shimon Ben- Shoshan has commended the Nigerian army’s gallantry of the fight against Boko Haram terrorist in the Norteast.
Mr Ben-Shoshan gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai at the Army headquarters, Abuja.
Ambassador Shimon, who recalled the outstanding relationship that exist between both countries , acknowledged that, peaceful resolution of any conflict was the way to go.
He noted that his country would be commemorating the sixty years of wonderful and successful relationship between Nigeria and Israel.
He however assured the Nigerian Army that the Israeli Government will partner and offer necessary military assistance to the Army, to enhance its fight against insurgency, banditry and other forms of criminality effectively.
In his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt .Gen. Tukur Buratai, solicited military cooperation from the Israeli Government to help prosecute the war against insurgency and other crimes perpetrated by criminal elements in the country.
Buratai, maintained that the Nigerian Army was willing to partner with the Israeli Government to improve the capacity of its officers and men on cyber intelligence, and other key areas of military supports.
The Army Chief, lauded Israel for nurturing and sustaining the long-standing relationship in diverse of areas of bilateral cooperation with Nigeria, for over sixty years, pledging the support of the Nigerian Army to the Ambassador, and his country’s government.
He therefore thanked the Israeli ambassador to Nigeria for acknowledging the efforts of the Nigerian Army for the protection of in territorial integrity and external aggression.
He further assured the Israeli government for a continued working relationship for the betterment of both countries.
