Actress Juliana Olayode has warned Christian leaders against compromising what she regards as biblical standards, urging the Church to strengthen its teaching of Scripture amid debates over sexuality and faith.

Olayode expressed her views in an Instagram post, saying the Church needed to address teachings she believes contradict the Word of God.

She noted that the influence of such teachings extends to adults, teenagers and children, making it important for believers to speak up.

The actress called on Christian institutions to return to the Scriptures, live by biblical principles and ensure that their convictions are not shaped by cultural expectations.

She also argued that identifying as gay or queer is incompatible with Christianity under her interpretation of the faith.

However, Olayode emphasised that she did not hate people who identify as gay, homosexual or queer and did not wish harm upon them because of their sexuality.

She maintained that everyone deserves love and that disagreements over religious beliefs should not be used to justify wishing evil upon others.

According to the actress, loving someone does not necessarily mean agreeing with their beliefs or lifestyle when those choices conflict with her understanding of Scripture.

She referenced Genesis 1:27, which describes humanity as created in God’s image as male and female.

Olayode also cited Matthew 19:4-6, pointing to Jesus’ words concerning male and female and the biblical understanding of marriage.

She argued that Christians who accept God as their Creator should regard His Word as their authority and avoid reshaping religious teachings to accommodate personal desires.

The actress encouraged believers to remain firm in their convictions while communicating them with love.

Her comments have renewed public discussion about the role of religious institutions in addressing LGBTQ identities and the interpretation of biblical teachings in modern society.

Olayode concluded that the Church should stand firmly on Scripture rather than compromise its beliefs to align with cultural trends.

Her remarks reflect her personal religious convictions and her view of how Christians should approach questions of sexuality, faith and biblical authority.
