Nigerian music star Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has said that the culture of maintaining a mysterious public image will become almost irrelevant in the entertainment industry in the next five years.
Kcee made the prediction during an interview with Selah Meditate, where he spoke about changing trends in the music business and the growing need for artists to maintain a visible presence.
The singer also said that it used to be that entertainers created value and generated curiosity by being less accessible and deliberately staying away from the public. He feels, however, that the strategy no longer has the same impact in today’s fast-changing industry.

Kcee said artistes now have to be visible and always relate with their fans to stay relevant. He said the growth of artificial intelligence and other tech developments has changed the entertainment landscape, making constant visibility ever more important.
The singer also revealed that he had been talking to some American professors who agreed with his view that the mysterious approach would soon lose its appeal.
“While absence helped to create value around 2021 and 2022, the situation has changed a lot,” he noted.
Kcee therefore advised artistes to become more extroverted and maintain a stronger presence in front of their fans as the industry continues to evolve.
