Veteran singer Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, better known as Saint Janet, has died and the death has plunged Nigeria’s Juju and Highlife music industry into mourning following her passing after a brief illness.

The legendary performer died Saturday, ending a musical career that made her one of the most lively live performers in the country, according to reports.

Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician, St Janet (Iyun Janet Ajilore) has died. The singer was known for her lively live performances, magnetic stage presence and socially unfiltered party tracks. “She died Saturday after a short illness,” Davies wrote.
Saint Janet enjoyed a huge fan base for her entire career with her high energy stage performances that combined Juju and Highlife rhythms with humour, wit and social consciousness which struck a chord with audiences at parties and social events.

She became one of the notable figures in the live music scene in Nigeria and earned recognition among lovers of Juju and Highlife music, thanks to her unique performance style and ability to connect with audiences.
