Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that Nigerians are being driven to the brink due to alleged human rights violations, and that a revolution may break out in the nation.

During his solidarity visit to the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai, who battled with security personnel at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday from Cairo, Egypt, Atiku spoke on Thursday night.

The former governor’s foreign passport was confiscated by EFCC agents, who also attempted to arrest him at the airport, as was previously mentioned.

Atiku remarked during the visit that the way Nigerians at the airport protested the detention must have taught the authorities a lesson.

Since it was individuals acting independently who resisted the arrest, he expressed his hope that they would take note of what they witnessed at the airport.

“What they fail to realize is that a revolution may occur in this nation as people will no longer tolerate human rights violations.

“The events that transpired at the airport were completely unnecessary.”
