Claims that the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) is associated with Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, have been refuted by Umar Ardo, the ADA’s promoter.

In an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Ardo denied rumors that Obi was funding ADA, calling them untrue and deceptive.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, was hesitant to register ADA, he added, allegedly due to rumors that Obi was supporting the party and planned to join it.

He claims that even if Obi were involved, he still has the constitutional right to support a political party because he is a Nigerian citizen.

According to him, the ADA promoters were disappointed by INEC’s decision to deny approval, even though they had fulfilled all legal requirements for registration.

Ardo stated that the group had made the decision to pursue legal action, and that the case will be reviewed by the Supreme Court if required.

The clock is ticking, he said. That ADA is Peter Obi’s own political party and that he would rejoin it is one of the accusations that they make about what is going on in the rumor cycle. Consequently, you know, ADA shouldn’t be registered due to its political sentiment. This is untrue if, while acknowledging that Peter Obi is the man behind the ADA, he is not a Nigerian. Isn’t he? He has the authority to support political parties and other organizations, don’t you think?

But as I mentioned, Peter Obi is not the issue. Peter Obi is someone I have never met. Nobody talking about Peter Obi has brought me up in this conversation.

We will remain silent, though, if we meet all of this and then they (INEC) say no. Let the judge decide. That’s the way we stand. as long as the court makes a decision promptly. You know, if the court decides in our favor, we think we will vote, but if not, we will appeal to the Supreme Court. Whether we vote in this election or not is essentially irrelevant. We simply wish to demonstrate that we have complied with all legal requirements, and INEC defied our registration request without cause.
