A lawsuit to prevent the new tax regulations from being implemented by January 1, 2026, was dismissed by a High Court in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The plaintiffs were unable to provide legal justification or irreversible injury to halt the implementation, according to Judge Kawu, who gave the ruling.
The Nigeria Tax Act 2025 can be implemented by the federal government, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and the National Assembly starting on January 1, 2026, in accordance with the verdict.
