APC Youth League in North West Denies Ties to Kebbi Coalition, Backs Bagudu

On Wednesday, the North West APC Youth League categorically rejected as “unregistered, unrecognized, and lacking legitimacy” inside the party an alleged alliance of APC support organizations in Kebbi State.

Speaking at a news conference in Kaduna, the league reaffirmed its unwavering support for Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, calling him an essential asset to the APC, the President, and the people of Kebbi State and the North West.

The league’s national coordinator, Comrade Aliyu Suleiman, stated that the alliance lacks a basis in the party’s structure at any level, including ward, local, state, and federal.

“There is no evidence of grassroots involvement, no voter mobilization, and no contribution to party activity from this so-called coalition. Suleiman stated that its sole purpose is to use Senator Bagudu’s reputation for one’s own benefit.

The organization commended Bagudu’s leadership as a unifying force in Kebbi State and throughout the North West, emphasizing his history of bolstering APC infrastructure, promoting unity, and enacting laws that have changed communities.

“Youth development, inclusive progress, and governance have always been Senator Bagudu’s top priorities. He is friendly, dedicated, and committed to promoting laws that enhance the quality of life for common people. The APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration cannot function without his vision and experience, Suleiman stated.

The coalition’s press statement was denounced by the youth league as an attempt to cause division within the party.

“These assertions demonstrate the desperation of political opportunists who aim to undermine the advancements made under Minister Bagudu’s leadership,” Suleiman continued.

In addition to defending the minister, the league urged APC members and supporters to stick together in support of Governor Nasir Idris, stressing the importance of party unity in maintaining progress and furthering the APC’s mission in Kebbi and the North West.

Under the direction of Senator Bagudu and other dedicated party leaders, the APC has accomplished important milestones in infrastructure, governance, and youth empowerment. Instead of getting sidetracked by baseless accusations, party members should concentrate on solidifying these accomplishments,” he continued.
