Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, a politician from Lagos, has criticized US President Donald Trump’s new strong stance against Nigeria, arguing that the Bola Tinubu administration should receive praise, support, and international cooperation rather than threats.

In reaction to Trump’s condemnation and warning of potential U.S. military intervention over claimed persecution of Christians in Nigeria, Adedeji, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, made this statement accessible on Friday, November 7.

The legislator contended that President Tinubu has taken strong action to address the nation’s security issues and has a thorough understanding of them.

“President Bola Tinubu, as a father, is not happy that bandits, terrorists, or whatever name they have, have tried to downplay the gains of this administration,” he said. For this reason, he gave the recently constituted service chiefs instructions to put an end to the nation’s insecurity. The current government will never give in to terrorists or those who support them.

He insisted that the President’s recent changes to the military leadership demonstrate his dedication to stabilizing the country and reestablishing security in unstable areas.

According to Adedeji, Nigeria has made significant economic development in the past two years, drawing recognition and investment from around the world.

“Different data have shown inflation dropping for the first time in years,” he continued, citing macroeconomic factors that point to a recovery. The administration has revitalized stagnant industries and drawn multibillion-dollar investments. Economic indicators keep demonstrating that the government is headed in the right direction.

The legislator also pointed out that subnational governments now have more budgetary ability and the value of the naira has improved.

He stated, “State governments are at ease for the first time because they now have a level of economic power.”

Adedeji urged the US to work with Nigeria instead of escalating hostilities.

“Global cooperation from the United States and other countries in the interest of our people is what Nigeria deserves right now. The congressman emphasized, “Let our youth and citizens continue to be patient and trust in the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

In an effort to combat terrorism, Adedeji urged Nigerians to keep backing the military and security services.

“We need to motivate our new service chiefs to meet expectations and make sure they put an end to the country’s insurgents.” Knowing that the outcome would best suit our desires, let’s support the government’s enormous efforts,” he continued.
