Goodluck Jonathan Can Contest 2027 Presidency, Says Ologunagba

According to Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s national publicity secretary, former president Goodluck Jonathan is entitled to run for president in 2027.
The PDP constitution permits any member in good standing to pursue any position, including the president, according to Olugunagba, who made this claim on Friday while appearing on Arise Television.

His recent comments about Jonathan, he explained, were taken out of context.

He brought up the fact that there are other members of the party who are just as qualified as Jonathan to run for president, Ologunagba clarified.

“The party has President Goodluck Jonathan as a member. Since he hasn’t stated that he isn’t a member, he is free to aim for any position as long as he is in good standing with the party. I don’t have any reason to think that he isn’t.

What I said was that, despite the fact that President Jonathan’s name is being mentioned and bandied about, there are a lot of highly qualified people in the PDP’s ranks, including members and governors, many of whom have proven their abilities through their results and performances.
