Yoruba kings’ ongoing rivalry have been attributed to their followers by Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan-designate.

He exhorted the Yoruba people to set aside contentious historical discussions and concentrate on harmony, peace, and group development instead.

Similar to how the Ooni cannot leave Ile-Ife to control Oyo, the Alaafin cannot leave Oyo to rule Ile-Ife. Each king has his territory,” he continued.
The Olubadan-designate used an international analogy to equate the situation to Britain’s colonial connections with America.
“The history they cite is outdated and akin to Britain colonizing America. “Today, Britain gets a cold if America sneezes,” he stated.
When considering Ibadan’s historical impact, Oba Ladoja said: “Many Yoruba kings may have ended up with names like ‘Emir’ if Ibadan hadn’t played a part. Instead than only conserving history, we should now focus on modernizing Ibadanland and advancing the Ibadan Empire’s legacy.
