Governor Bago Names Himself Self-Imposed DG for Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign

For the 2027 reelection of President Bola Tinubu, Umaru Bago, the governor of Niger State, has announced that he will serve as the director general of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign.
Bago reportedly made the statement at a speech in the state capital of Minna on Tuesday.

The governor also declared that Tinubu’s campaign would have its headquarters in the state.
In a jab at those pushing for a northern candidate in the run-up to the 2027 election, Bago insisted that the North and South have an unspoken agreement over the formula for power sharing.

“I am now the self-imposed Director General of the Tinubu campaign for 2027, and the Asiwaju 2027 campaign headquarters is in Niger State,” he stated.

We are Nigerians, and we adore our country. The rotation of power between the North and the South is an unwritten agreement in Nigeria. Peace has been restored to this nation as a result.

Asiwaju is only in his second year, and we just finished former President Muhammadu Buhari’s term.

Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, asserts that his friendship with President Tinubu is almost twenty years old and would not be weakened by political ties.

Shortly after meeting with the president behind closed doors at the State House, Soludo spoke in Abuja on Tuesday, saying Tinubu is in “robust health and high spirits” and that their conversation was “quite pleasant.”

Soludo declared, “I don’t regret anything. One of my friends is President Tinubu. I’ve known him for twenty-two years and counting, so you shouldn’t turn your friend away.

His audacious actions, especially in the areas of structural reforms and the economy, have inspired me, and I support him. We must stick on our course since we are making the right decisions.

“My support for Tinubu is based on a broader ideological conviction that progressive parties should work together,” the governor of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) said.
